Didn't expect it to come out today. Mei, Mercy and Hanzo got buffed, Zenny, Genji, D.Va and Lucio got nerfed. Also Roadhog's hook was finally (?) fixed. PATCH HIGHLIGHTS: SpoilerShow Competitive Play Season 2 We've made some big changes to Competitive Play in anticipation of the launch of Season 2 on September 6. The most noticeable change is the introduction of skill tiers, which we hope will better communicate players' relative skill levels. Competitive Play will put a greater emphasis on skill tiers over specific ratings, and as such, a player's tier will be more prominently displayed throughout the game. We've also switched the skill rating system to a 1-5000 scale to give players more detailed information about how each match affects their specific rating. Sudden Death is also going away in Season 2. Instead, matches that are tied when the clock runs out end in a draw—though, it should be a rare occurrence. Because of this, we've made some changes to our game modes in Competitive Play to help reduce the chance that a draw will occur. We've also made a few minor adjustments to leaver penalties, the top 500 system, and the competitive point system. Read on below to learn more! SpoilerShow General

Also every hero was given 2 new emotes (with some exceptions), a laughing emote and a sit down emote. Exceptions were: - Bastion who only gets a laughing emote - D.Va who gets a legendary emote (sitting down emote) - Tracer who only gets a sit down emote (as she already had a laughing emote) |

Season 2 will be the season full of tears from people that were playing Genji as their main. 2 out of 3 nerfs to him do make sense in the manner that 1) His dash+melee combo was an exploit similar to Widowmaker's quick scope back in the day and 2) His ultimate lasted way too damn long. The only thing I don't understand is the wall jump reset. I'm all for this update but that wall jump reset is a bit too much of a nerf because Genji, like Reaper and Tracer, is a flanker; meaning his job is to use his mobility to its fullest to get behind enemy lines and pick off key targets. But overall, I'm glad they crippled Genji a bit to the point that he won't be a psychotic cyborg spewing out crazy Japanese and then have people running around trying to look for cover and whatnot. One key thing that worries me about this update is that the hitboxes for projectiles are being reverted and this makes Hanzo extremely dangerous and might even put him at overpowered status like before. Add the giant hitboxes onto the other buff that Hanzo will receive (his projectile speed increased) and I think we'll be hearing about how overpowered Hanzo is. Also, I believe that with all these buffs to Hanzo, it's going to make Widowmaker pretty much obsolete (except for extreme ranges.) Roadhog's hook being buffed doesn't worry me at all. I mean we've all been hooked by him in a ridiculous fashion but it just means I'll have to step my game up as Reaper and be more strategic at dodging it. So Roadhog's buff isn't worrisome. Mei's buff is actually very needed for her. Her ultimate was pretty useless compared to other ultimates and now get a much bigger radius plus the little drone will be able to pierce barries (Reinhardt's shield and so forth.) |

Eichenwalde (The new hybrid map) is now available on the PTR. It will be on rotation for both Casual and Competitive but it also has it's own brawl where it is the only map and hero limit is set to one. Group restrictions have been changed in the PTR:
