With the latest update, valve has "improved visibility" on all the maps as well as widened a corridor and removing a major prop on inferno and making some various bug fixes to all of the maps. These bug fixes were not made to the _se maps, as far as I can tell. With the improved visibility, should I remove the _se maps from our map rotations and replace them with the regular maps?

No the _se maps cleaned up random stuff as well and makes it less distracting to play on, the best thing that you guys should do is make _se maps only on the competitive servers and the new valve maps on the deathmatch and other servers

They took out a lot of the useless stuff though. Take a look at this thread and then tell me what you think. (If you still the same way that's fine, just wanting to make sure you've looked at all the changes.)

Does anybody know if these will be implemented in league play?

Probably not considering that these new maps only made some changes to map areas and made it easier to see at long distances, the SE maps do all of that and they take out the annoying rondom stuff that Valve thinks makes the maps pretty

I like the changes a lot, too bad chickens are still around. They wouldn't bother me if they didn't give away my position by running from me. It's stupid.

I don't have a problem with chickens and I'm surprised when people who played 1.6 do. It's just like sound triggers in earlier maps. instead of thunder when you cross bridge in aztec, a chicken runs up mid in inferno.

In ESEA they took chickens off. There must be some command for it somewhere. I have no idea if its also implemented into league play.

Now that I think of it, any professional inferno match that's broadcasted on twitch, does not have chickens on it.

Interesting. I looked at this list of cvars, which I think is comprehensive, and didn't find anything. Are you sure they don't play the se maps?

I could have sworn I was watching a pro match and the announcer specifically talked about how the chickens were giving the teams position away at that moment. I may have just made that up too.

I remember that too. But I was also too lazy to look up a match on a chicken map.

I've replaced them all with the regular maps. Post here if you decide you want it reverted.
