I say drop them to 2 per team. Bots are met to keep the server active, so people can see it, and join in. I think that 2 bots on each side is enough, since once it's 2 vs 2 (humans), we don't need the 3rd player to be a bot, since I find it annoying playing with bots. Once we got 4 people in, the bots achieved their goal, to keep the server active, so it can attract people in. That's my 2 cents on this.

So do any of you realize that if you drop the bots to 2 v 2, then when someone joins its no longer a 5 v 5 server? People expect 10 slots to be filled when they join that server. I think its detrimental to lower the bot count.

And that's not just to be difficult - it's because all the settings on our servers were picked after long discussions of the pros and cons and long periods of testing various settings. We simply won't be able to change our minds without input from the community.

Yep. Our bot count is much lower on our 20 slot server (I think it's 2, but maybe it's 3) because it's not meant to be a 5v5 server. As I mentioned in the other thread, a bot count of 4 is the closest I can get to a true 5v5 (and thus the closest I can get to "128 tick unranked matchmaking with league rules") because of the way CS:GO handles bot kicks.

Oh that's right, that could be a problem for the 5 v 5. So I'd leave the 5 v 5 as his, but if we have bots in other servers, it should be 2 v 2, with the exception of the 5 v 5. I agree that the 10 slot should always have 10, I was thinking about the 10 slot server, I was thinking of the other servers. :shock:

I have stated my opinion previously so I won't go too indepth. I don't believe that bots are essential to a competitive 5v5 server. When I played 1.6, If you didn't have 5 players, you had to get a stand-in, play with 4 players, or forfeit. CSGO is exactly the same way. If we are trying to emulate MM, then we should have 45 sec bomb timers and 2 min Round Times. IMO, there seems to be an identity crisis here. I don't see how lowering the bot quota is the end of the world.

How So? There is still 10 people and there is still 5 people per team. Bots don't change that all. If we are focused on the illusion of more players and bots give that illusion then I sort of understand but that's about it.

I think it should stay the same. This issue isn't with the bot count, the issue is with the bots themselves taking up server slots SOMETIMES (which amaroq stated, that is a valve/csgo issue).

Um lets see robot. 2 v 2 bots 2 people join the server, its not 5 v 5 now. The bots are there so that if 2 single people join they can play 5 v 5. No one said they wanted to emulate match making. Anubis said she wanted as close to 128 tick matchmaking with LEAGUE RULES as she could get.

Ohhh I personally don't think 5v5 is needed until 10 Human Players Join

I agree with robot in that I believe people join the server to play against humans, not bots. My belief is that bots are in the server in order to fill in for 1 or 2 missing human players while the server waits for someone else to join. I don't believe that bots should be substitutes for human players in order to play a 5v5 match.

Leave the bots the same. I don't see the reason to remove them. They keep the server populated and when you die you can take them over and keep playing. It was never an issue before.

Why I think there should be 2 bots per team is because I'd rather play a 2v2 than a 5v5 with bots.
I'm still confused about how 2 bots per team does not make it 5v5 anymore until more people join.
