Well, today for dinner we are going to be eating some fried fish, and what goes better with fried fish than french fries? Nothing. So I am trying out a french fry recipe I found online. Ingredients: 2 1/2 lbs potatoes 1 c flower 1 tsp garlic salt 1 tsp onion salt 1 tsp salt 1 tsp paprika oil Cut up the potatoes into french-fry sized pieces. Cover in cold water to prevent them from turning brown while you prepare everything else. Put your oil in something good for deep frying, like a deep frying pan or something. Heat it up. While the oil is heating, mix together all the dry ingredients. Coat the potato slices in the batter. Place fries one at a time into the skillet (in other words, don't throw them all in at once - this keeps them from clumping up). Fry until golden and crispy, and then remove to a paper-towel covered plate to let them drain. |

Well, it would depend on what you're frying them in. I fried them in a Fry Daddy, so like three cups. If you fry it in a small skillet, you wouldn't need nearly that much. Also, after trying these out, I would say, double the spices per cup of flower. They smelled great, but ended up being somewhat bland. |

but even though they were under seasoned, I must admit that breading the fries made a huge difference. They were really good. |
