As I said on Facebook after posting this as my status, the girl got off lucky with just a shot-up laptop and a grounding. If it was a Korean (or any Oriental parent for that matter,) you would either be beaten to a pulp OR 6 ft. under. After watching this and thinking about the days I was 15 made me realize that kids today are fucking spoiled and aren't disciplined hard enough. In my days, if I got rebellious against my parents, first would be a bunch of pimp slaps by my mother and then followed by a 15-hit Tae Kwon Do combo from my father (3rd Dan black belt in TKD.) And for those of you who think that the father was acting too harsh, you're fucking spoiled too! You should NEVER disrespect the 2 people that brought you into this world. Parents asks children to do chores for a reason: it builds discipline (in my opinion anyways.) And the part where she stated that she should be paid really made my day. Your parents put a roof over your head, they feed you, they put clothes on you, and provide you with the necessities to make your life entertaining (cellphone, laptops, mp3 players, etc.) Parenting today has gotten too soft and I'm happy to see this guy shove the boot up her arrogant ass since we need more parents like him.

I look at kids today and question the parenting skills. I do not question his parenting skills. Although destroying a laptop that he bought seems kind of iffy. It clearly got his point across, I just would've taken the laptop back and use it for my own use.

When I have children, I'll be damned if they EVER talk to me like that. My children will be fearfully respectful and respectfully fear me

yeah I agee. There was this book they were talking about on the radio the other day (I only listen to talk radio) about how different french parents are to american parents. They invite friends over and the children go play while the adults have coffee and chit chat. American's monitor every moment of their childs life or try to be a part of it. This American parent that is writing the book goes on to say that she doesn't notice the French children throwing temper tantrums or having to be removed from the group by a parent because children will be children and they work their own shit out. Temper tantrums are simply to get the parents attention and/or get what the child wants. Don't get me wrong I am not against spending time with your children I think that is a great thing, but be a parent not a friend. Chores are excellent discipline and shouldn't be paid for. Allowance is perfectly fine but should be separate from the chores or something. I don't think he was over the top (well maybe the shooting was) but sometimes you gotta make your point stick. Hopefully she learned.
