I am issuing a challenge to all members of our community! If you are reading this, that means you have been challenged! If you are anything like me, you are full of excuses as to why you don't want to go to the gym. I mean, I have a gym IN my house, and I don't use it. There's something about strength training when I am not strong that is off-putting to me. I can't wrap my mind around why though. So I've been doing some research and Elliott Hulse happened to upload a relevant video a few days later! His video is about working out during Spring Break, without access to a gym. There are 3 different workouts that can be done separately or concurrently. There is a body weight workout, a kettlebell workout (dumbells can be used as a replacement) and a jump rope workout. I plan on starting with the body weight and jump rope workouts and then testing out the kettlebell workout after gaining a little bit of strength and muscular stability back. The challenge is a simple one: Do any one or more of these workouts, at least twice a week, starting April 1st and ending June 30th. That means, doing this for 3 months. The workouts are as follows: Body Weight Workout SpoilerShow

I think kettle bells are a great way to work out your core, quads, and arms |

Here's my excuse on why I can't do this fitness challenge: Arterioveinous Malformation. If I tried anything like this, I'd probably die in a fetal position in a pool of blood. |

Dude! I do Martial arts almost every day, and I just lost 20 pounds, after I gained it, for being hurt for a while. I can't lose anymore than that now, all I'll have, are ribs... . ![]() |

I loved your OP btw Trav. I read it before but didn't get a chance to respond. Fitness and good health is really important. I haven't watched the videos yet, but will later. I've been working out more consistently / aggressively myself the past 6 weeks. I had allowed myself to get too lazy and complacent... drinking too much beer, eating ice cream, etc. I've already lost 10 pounds since mid-February. Anyhow, I'll check the videos out later, but I'm kind of already in a routine. I might try some of this stuff too though. Nice post! Just wanted to let you know. |
