I've been getting headaches for the past week or so at least once a day. It's getting annoying and I think I need to try out different methods rather than popping an aspirin once a day.

Any ideas?

I've always found acetaminophen works better than aspirin.

I suffer from almost daily normal headaches and a crippling Migraine about once a month.

Go to Shoppers Drug Mart and get yourself these badboys. I find them to be the fastest working. You may want to also take Acetaminophen as well as it is in just about every other pill anyway. I guess since it thins blood, it allows other drugs to work faster. (Citation needed)

How do you guys LIVE with weekly+ headaches? That's not normal :s Go to a doctor! Good chance that from sitting at a computer so long that yall have tight scapulae giving you headaches. FOAM ROLL THAT BITCH OUT! (seriously, look into foam rolling)

Yeah, I have almost daily headaches as well. I have been this way since I was about 4 or 5 years old. I have various forms. I get stress or tension headaches from all my ticking I do with tourettes. I get just normal headaches on a regular basis and like jero I get a migraine probably monthly or every other month. Sometimes its more but usually about like that. I have learned to live with it. Acetaminophen is one of the best things you can take honestly. If you can find bc or goody's headache powders, those are amazing as well but they taste terrible. They work really fast.

Aside from medicine, you should decompress. Go to a very relaxing room or play, make sure its cool not too hot, get something really soft behind your head. Not just any pillow either, something that supports your neck well. Lay with your eyes closed and literally just pay attention to your breathing. Try not to move at all besides your breathing. Imagine starting at your head and go down to your feet and slowly start relaxing completely parts of your body. Do this until you feel your whole body is completely relaxed. Now it can help as quickly as 10 minutes or it could take an hour or more, but sometimes headaches are caused by blood pressure being a little high and just relaxing can help tremendously. Really it depends on what type of headache you are having. Cluster, stress, sinus, normal, migraine. Each would require different things. headaches are not all the same, though for most people who only EVER experience a normal headache (one caused from blood pressure or the occasional sinus headache) they wouldn't know what that is about.

No but on a serious note, I usually just wing it. If it hurts more than a usual headache, I just take a good 2 hour nap.

This has nothing to do with acetaminophen/exercises that were recommended. This comes from a fitness thread that I read about a guy who everybody agree is just being a baby about some leg day pain. Everybody recommended painkillers, supplements, and sleep. He went to the doctor and found out he had rhabdo. Rhabdomyolysis will kill you. If he had listened to ALL of these internet strangers and their advice, he would be dead from a single day of exercising too hard.

Take breaks, rest, and eat plentifully. Just take it easy. No need to pump chemicals into your brain. :D

But really, when you think about it, your body is just a machine that pumps chemicals into your brain. There is nothing inherently unhealthy about that.
