I am really interested in this underground internet. I have never messed with tor but I want to.

Networking guy here. Tor used to be secure, but is basically an NSA honeypot now. The NSA has backdoors in tons of consumer products now, plus matching browsing characteristics of end nodes with logs of actual internet usage is a good way to narrow down who is who. I would never trust these "proxies" without setting up my own offshore VPN(s) that are completely secure (BSD based/LFS based) first.

I love the idea and concept of the Deepnet/Darknet, but I don't know enough about networking and security to use it. It makes me feel unsafe just thinking about it. At least with public internet, I have some idea of how I can mask who I am and what I am doing to some extent. I wouldn't use something like that until it got much more popular. I also worry that it's used mainly for illegal things and could get you put on some watch list if you don't take the right steps to hide who you are.

I just got introduced to it myself.... Basically using tor will also mask your ip address.... But it is very dodgey.... if your going to mess around on the deep net... research it first... Like i said.. trhe twitter symbol is for people who want to be imprisoned... kiddie porn.... i have no idea why they put it under that icon!

i downloaded the tor client and visited the hiddenwiki and its reallllllly, i mean REALY weird. i only visited a view adresses but most of them were just scams or drug marketplaces that were probably sketchy. After i was done looking around i uninstalled tor and everything else along with it and kept looking out my window for the NSA to show up

lol I know people that have used that to buy things. a lot of it is legit but you gotta research everything on there.
