So I am about to go watch UFC 127, and then after it is over I will come back and give my reviews of the major fights, and of course and commentary about the event in general. I will post spoilers for all the out comes to the fights, so if you haven't watched the fights and don't want to know who wins, you won't have it ruined. Check back later for the update.

What did you think of Bisping's knee to the face? "He hurt my feelings, so I kneed him in the head like a dick. Sorry about that." I have no respect for him anymore. (Not that I had much to begin with, but whatever bit I had is gone by now.)

Okay so here is my quick break down of the fights. (quick because I am at work on limited lunch time, I will get more into detail later tonite)

Some of the under card fights, specifically the bloody fight that they showed after the main event, were very very good fights. There was a high level of grappling showed in most of those under cards which really impressed me. The bloody fight however, should have been stopped in the first round when the doctor looked at the guys eye. I mean seriously, if you have a cut above your eye that is so bad your eye lid now hands INTO YOUR EYE....then the fight should be stopped. Okay, okay, we get it you are a touch son of a bitch that can take a punch over and over. Is there really any reason to permanently scar your face just because you are tough. Cuts are unfortunate, and most of the time I really hate it when a fight gets stopped because of a cut, but when the fighter is actually at a disadvantage, and a disadvantage that could be VERY harmful to the fighter, then the fight should be stopped.

Bisping.
SpoilerShow
I have always been a HUGE HUGE Bisping fan. I supported him through all the shit he talked towards Dan Henderson and then he got KTFO. However, after he intentionally threw an illegal knee to the head of a downed opponent....I think I lost all respect for him. I don't care what the other fighter says about you, your family, your dog...it doesn't matter. If you can't solve it while fighting in the ring then you need to let it go. Grow up and be a big boy. Don't have temper tantrums in the ring. One it makes you look like a spoiled little child, and two and not a good image for the sport. People already have a bad idea of what MMA especially UFC is, so we don't need idiots furthering that idea along.
BJ Penn
SpoilerShow
So I am positive that BJ doesn't need to retire after watching this fight. He beat Matt Hughes and then obviously improved his game since that fight. He trained with Matt Hughes for weeks and I noticed the change. His take downs were vastly improved (mainly in the fact that he was taking down a much larger fighter). I wish I could have seen him showcase his striking a little better, and I wish he wouldn't have gotten reversed everytime he took Fitch to the ground. I think fitch is one of the most boring fighters you can possibly watch. His win streak is not even a little impressive to me. Yeah he dominated the third round against Penn, but I think Penn was tired from wrestling with a larger fighter up to that point. And all he did was lay on him and tap him in the face constantly. They weren't even hard shots. He didn't try to finish the fight one single time. Boring. I think the decision of a Majority draw was a good call. I hate draws, but that was a good call by the judges.
Some of the other fights on the card were close matches. However I think the judges did a good job this time. maybe these were just better judges or maybe they got some fucking training and know what they are doing now. On all the close fights the judges scored just like I did. where a 10-8 should be been, they actually scored it that way. I do think it needs to be fined tuned a little more, however. Reversals need to count for something or at least negate your take down or whatever you did. I think moving up in weight class was good for Penn, but I still don't think he could handle GSP. I lost a lot of respect for bisping. He tried to say later that it wasn't an intentional illegal blow, but I really don't agree. I want to see him get knocked out for now on. I don't like attitudes like his in this sport. Anyone else care to chime in??
