Is the phone really quiet? It seems to me like all this would end up doing is break the speaker (which happened to my last phone and SUCKS)

If you plan to do this, make sure you install a custom recovery so that you can make a nandroid backup. Making a nandroid backup is one of the most common things to do before attempting any hack or modification of sorts.

Also, seeing that it's actually from the I9300 thread, I seriously want you to make a nandroid backup. The reason I'm being so adamant about making a backup in this situation is because while the phone might look the same on the outside, the hardware is completely different. Whereas our U.S. Galaxy S3s are running dual-core Snapdragons, the International Galaxy S3 (I9300) runs a quad-core Exynos processor. So be very careful with this even though it does seem like a pretty trivial mod.

how bout now http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpos ... stcount=54

also, after further reading, I came across some info. Download Volume+ (requires root) and this will allow you to adjust past the normal volume settings. Also, if you combine that with PowerAmp (disable a setting inside PowerAmp that causes problems with Volume+) and suddenly your phone is so loud you can hear it next to a jet plane. PowerAmp is a music program, and its audio driver likes to fight with volume+ so if that one setting, which I forget but will find, is turned off then it all works great.

It seems like that hack will work for your phone. However, you're going to need a custom recovery (CWM or TWRP) to flash them.
