Absurd Minds

I need a program that just runs in the background and gives me notifications whenever I get an email to one of my accounts. It needs to work with gmail and windows live mail. I used to use trillian but it's gotten really unstable recently and crashes all the time. Does anybody know of a program that would work?

When you say windows live mail do you mean like a Microsoft provided address? Cause Windows Live Mail is an actual program that organizes many accounts.

Thunderbird is a great email client. I have used Pidgin in the past and apparently you can set that up for email notifications.

It's an @live.com email address, which is what hotmail recently converted to.
I once tried thunderbird but I couldn't figure it out lol. Maybe I'm more computer literate now. I'll give it another try.
