Ok, so I just got my new ASUS Dual band Wireless N Router installed and up and running. I've had my old Linksys G router forever and decided it was time to "upgrade." One big problem though...... I used to always ping low 60s on our servers (and did earlier this morning as well). Now that I set up the new router I'm pinging around 90 on all of our servers. Any suggestions for me? |

No, I don't have a wireless card in my computer.

Did you try the old router again to make sure it wasn't a coincidence? |

What kind of setup? You could normally just unplug two cables to test it. But it would be nice to confirm that the router is the problem before trying to troubleshoot such a difficult piece of hardware. |

Ok, so my ping was 92 with the new router. I just plugged my computer directly into my modem and turned the router off. Reconnected and my ping is back to 62. Then I reconnected back through the router again...back up to 92. So the new router is making me lose 30 ms, whereas my old router maintained the same speed (low 60s) that I would get directly from the modem. Not sure what you mean by what kind of setup. |

Right. Any thoughts on what I can do to fix the problem though? Or do I just box it up and ship it back and use my 7 year old one until it dies? Maybe their tech support could help. |

I don't know anything about routers lol. I was just getting the basic troubleshooting questions out of the way for somebody more experienced. |
