soooo if this isnt the problem then ive run out of ideas. the drive titled "SYSTEM RESERVED" on my comp is fragmented 33% supposedly my drives are being optimized automatically. but this appears to have done nothing for this one. and manually clicking the optimize button does nothing either. what should i do?

Edit: nvm i looked it up and apparently having it be fragmented wont affect your performance. so i have no idea whats wrong with my comp

How old is this drive? If it loads game files from it, it should be able to perform fine so I have no clue either.

System reserved partition should be the "restore partition" if you want to restore the factory defaults of the PC/laptop.

4.2% Damage is bad. You will need to run a chkdsk on restart to try and restore those sectors, or rewrite the data to non damaged sectors. The harddrive will fail though so you should look for a replacement soon.

yeah that much damage is quite bad. Also, if this wasn't your RESERVE drive and it was your main drive, that much fragmentation can cause all kinds of problems that you wouldn't expect. I have seen computers be slow to the point of being useless from 40% fragmentation or higher.

the picture above is my /C drive not my "system reserve partition"
Its the newest drive in my machine all the other ones come from old computers. this drive is only 3-4 years old. the others are more like 6 or older but they are fine some how

Edit: if the check disk gets stuck on a number how long should i wait before calling it quits?

I usually wait 10-30 minutes on stuff like that, but I could be waiting WAY too long for all I know.
