Recently bought myself a ASUS Dual 1070 OC (O8G) Edition a week ago. It's been working pretty good in Civilization 6 and Battlefield 4, but for most games it crashes or has a slight stutter.

Games include:
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 (Crashes about 5 mins into playing a multiplayer match)
Overwatch (Slight stuttering issue but sometimes crashes giving me a "Rendering device has been lost" error)
Just Cause 2 (Crashed after an hour of playing)
Forza Horizon 3 (This one might be because of the game itself)

System Specs:
CPU: Intel Core i5-6600k Quad-Core @ 3.5Ghz
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 612 V.2
Motherboard: ASUS Z170-A (Intel LGA 1151)
Video Card: ASUS GTX 1070 DUAL 8GB OC Edition
SSD: Kingston 120GB V300
HD1: WD Blue 3TB 3.5
HD2: WD Blue 1TB 3.5
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 2400MHz (2x8GB)
Power Supply: ThermalTake SP-750P Bronze 80+
OS: Windows 10 Pro N 64bit

Things I have tried to fix this include:

- Re-seat the GPU
- Clean the contacts
- Place GPU in another PCIe Slot
- Reduce GPU Boost Clock from 1772 to 1712
- Increase Fan Speed from 50% (auto) to 60% to 100%
- Put GPU Temp Target from 83 C to 73 C
- Power Target from 100% to 75%
- Rollback driver from 375.70 to 372.90
- Clean install drivers
- Lower Graphical Details of games in question
- Attempt to get better airflow in case

Nothing has fixed this problem and I'm running out of ideas. A couple of extra notes:

- 3DMark ran perfectly fine (Firestrike and Time Spy) http://www.3dmark.com/fs/10604669
- Furmark stress test ran for 20 mins at 1080p, no problems
- No watercooling
- Upgraded from AMD 270x (which only had a once and a blue moon crash in Overwatch)
- Uninstalled all AMD Drivers (for all I know)

Contemplating doing a windows reset at this point but I really don't want to unless needed.

I was running GPU-z with logs when playing COD:BO3 so I can give a snippet of what was going on in the background (It might be better to view the logs from here instead because it looks better):

Thanks in advance.

when it crashes is it just turned the game off, is there an error of some kind, is it freezing?

Depends on the game.
  • Call of Duty freezes with no error, then I have to pull up task manager to close the game fully.
  • Overwatch gives me "Rendering Device has been lost" error, then shuts down.
  • Just Cause 2 froze for 4 or so seconds and then closed itself. No error.
  • Forza Horizon 3 does the same as Just Cause 2 but sometimes gives me a "forzahorizon3.exe has stopped working" error.
