k so with my pc it came with an radeon hd 4350 and i recently got a geforce 8400 gs for free. but they are both low profile cards and they both suck a little or alot but i was wondering what would u guys or girls say would be a good vidcard to get and i would rather stick with an ati if i can because i have always used them and i don't like the Nvidia cards at all. thanks for your time ohh and btw i live in canada and i have a maximum amount to spend at 200 but i would like to go lower then that. For $200, my suggestion would be the ATI Radeon HD5770. Every computer hardware review website I read, the 5770 was the perfect choice in the $200 range. Not only do you get DirectX11 support, you also get ATI's EyeFinity technology, performance that rivals the Nvidia GTX 260, 1GB of GDDR5 memory, and the 5770 uses way less power than the GTX 260 and scales absolutely well in CrossfireX mode. |

I was thinking of going to ATI's line of cards after hearing so many good things about them. Only negative thing I keep hearing about is about how buggy the latest Catalyst drivers for their cards are. I want to either get 2x5770s and CrossfireX or a single 5870. Or I could get a 5850 and get a 5770 and put them in a CrossfireX configuration. |

Wow, a 5770 for 280 dollars?! What store is that because they are seriously ripping off their customers! The nearest Best Buy sells a 5770 for $199.99 and online prices are much lower (usually around $30 lower.) I'm sorry but that store is full of shit if they're charging that much for a Radeon 5770. |

Yeah, the most expensive one on newegg.com is only 174. Buy online. |

Yeah, when you buy it online, not only do you get free shipping on most video card purchases (especially from newegg) but you also don't have to pay tax (one of the reasons why I buy electronics online.) Plus for $280, I could see myself getting 2 of those 5770s from newegg and doing a CrossfireX configuration (2x5770s are much faster than a 5870.) Also, if you plan on buying online, buy the ones using a non-proprietary cooler (my recommendation is the Vapor-X cooler from Sapphire.) Either that or the MSI Hawk version of the card. Non-proprietary coolers usually have better cooling methods being utilized (from the looks of the pictures, the MSI Hawk 5770 uses heatpipes as well as a huge heatsink+fan configuration.) |

they wouldn't be able to stay open if that was the case. Only big time companies can do things like that. I am not saying it isn't true, but its VERY unlikely that is the case. They are most likely jacking the price so they can make profit of any kind. |

Either that or the suppliers are ripping off the store big time. Maybe there's like ten suppliers in between, and each only jacks up the price a bit, but in the end it's 100 bucks more than you could get it if you just bought it online yourself.Does newegg ship to Canada? If not, you should try to find an online supplier that does. Your best bet by far is just to buy online. |

Newegg does ship to Canada but I don't know what the shipping rates are (if any.) 2 other retailers I know that ship to Canada is Tigerdirect.com and NCIX.com. These 2 retailers have stores in various locations in Canada. Here is a link to help you find all the Tigerdirect store locations in Canada: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/retailstores/indexca.asp NCIX doesn't have the option to locate a store but from what I've read, retail outlets are located in Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, and Langley; British Columbia. Here is a link to their website: http://www.ncix.com For Newegg's Canadian site, here's the link: http://www.newegg.ca/ |

Even on newegg.ca the most expensive one is only 199. Still quite a bit cheaper, even when you factor in shipping. |
