From my understanding on CSS beta, it'll incorporate the latest Source engine (Left 4 Dead 2's engine) and this should give it a nice facelift as well as get rid of most glitches and bugs (if not all) and give players extra replay value by adding achievements. It'll also add some different camera options as well as some other stuff I forget right now. Truth is that Source does need a huge make-over seeing that the game hasn't received any significant updates.

yea i heard they were going to put in the left 4 dead engine instead
and something close to about 150 achievements right?
they were even going to change the scoreboard to include match stats like MVP and stuff like that
hope it looks cool
and even though i never played it i knew it need a tune up

Yeah, it definitely needed a tune up, but to make it MORE like 1.6, not less. I think CSProMod was a much better idea than this. I think the sort of change Valve is doing with CSS Beta is a step in the wrong direction.

its understandable though videogames change we cant always have 1.6 you know
it would be completely awsome if they had 1.6 with source graphics....man that would be the day you know
but Valve is just going with the flow i guess
theyre just trying out new things

and everyone will be all excited about achievements and various things like that until they play the game for more than an hour and they will start complaining again. Tune up or not, the game still won't be GREAT, it will just be another one that I occasionally play.

the engine is probably the only real thing to see whats up with
