So Steam is completely new to me as of a month ago, I'm still getting used to things. One of the things that was a bit confusing for me is that I have separate logins for the Steam Forum and the normal Steam application. So when logged into the Steam application, I checked out the "discussion" link and ended up in what I though was the forums (at least it looked similar) and had a bunch of postings about CSGO. Now I seem to realize that CSGO forums and CSGO discussions are 2 different places, is this correct? If so, do you feel it is better to post in the forums or the discussion area when soliciting feedback? |

Yeah, they have two different forums. Generally, the forums.steampowered.com website has better discussion. The forums that are part of the steam community hub are generally less helpful. I pretty much never go there because they're useless. |

Since you are new to steam, you should enable Steam Guard. This makes it so when you log into your computer, it send you an email with a code to enter. This will only happen once since it will remember your IP. If you log in from a different IP or someone else gets your password, it will email you a new code to get access to your account. Also, if you log into your account from the steam webpage or any website that legitly needs your steam login, like altPUG, then you will need to enter the code every time you visit the site. I like it a lot and it gives Steam a better security. |

Thanks Mutiny. It already does this. At least I think so because I know I've been emailed asking for the code when I first tried to login from my iPad, and also from my laptop. I'll double check though. |
