Your own avatar is in higher resolution than anybody else's. Even though me and Trav both have the same avatar, each of us saw the other as having a blurrier avatar.

Your own avatar is in higher resolution than anybody else's. Even though me and Trav both have the same avatar, each of us saw the other as having a blurrier avatar.

My first thought is that it is fetching the same exact image from the friends list using Steam's API to fetch said image, and they didn't bother to change the dimensions of the avatar fetched. I'd imagine travie's is the way it is because valve is probably just fetching "avatar" while travie's profile is being fetched with "avatarfull".
