Directly from the included readme:
Quote:
This edited version of Counter-Strike's "747 Hijack" map ("cs_747.bsp") fixes two annoying problems when playing the map:

1 - Your weapon crosshairs display your opponent's name when they are focused on the curtains separating the various sections of the aircraft (before your opponent actually walks through the curtains).

2 - Any AI bots that are playing on the map can see through the curtains, even when they are closed. This will affect not only the Counter-Strike: Condition Zero bots, but any other addon bot module for Counter-Strike as well (PODBot, WeedsBot, ZBot, etc...).

(Edit) Off-topic rambling:

What the hell is "WeedsBot"? Well, right here -> http://absurdminds.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=1443 :)

Awesome. That was the most annoying thing about the map if you were playing against bots. It was basically a big glass room.

Yeah, I found it quite annoying that they could see me, but I couldn't see them LOL!

I'm really not sure what the bots can and cannot "see", but I've seen quite a few things contained in various CS maps that the bots could look right through.

There are serveral buglets in the "SturmBot" addon for Day of Defeat as well... the SturmBots can see right through smoke or fog.

A really cool DoD map that I like to play called "DoD_Brume" suffers from this problem with the SturmBots... the map is EXTREMELY foggy (intentionally), and a human can only see about 50 feet in front of them. The SturmBots on the other hand can see the entire length of the map LOL!

Anyhow, my little cs_747 fix works fairly well... NOW, I can FINALLY have some fun on this map with the bots :)

P.S. New version is available (Rev. B)... snag it from the links in my first post in this message.

I originally changed the curtains' "func_door" speeds from 180 to 360 in the old version, but in the new version increased the speed of them to "1000" units-per-second... so as to maintain the original "feel" of them.

Note that you will still have a little pause when attempting to go through them (as the fix makes the curtains solid doors, instead of non-solid things that you can pass right through)... but the pause is a lot less now that the opening speeds are faster :)

Post subject:  Counter-Strike: Condition Zero "cs_747" Map - AI Bots Ladder

Something else y'all mught be interested in:

This edited version of the AI bots navigation mesh ("cs_747.nav") for Counter-Strike: Condition Zero's "747 Hijack" map ("cs_747.bsp") fixes an extremely annoying problem when playing the map with bots.

There is a ladder that goes from the middle of the cabin area down to the cargo hold ("Crawlspace") of the aircraft. The AI bots (especially the counter-terrorists) will almost always "hump" the back side of this ladder in the cargo hold, and will never climb up the ladder to the middle of the cabin area.

This new edited AI bots navigation mesh file partially fixes that problem, using a roundabout method (as the game has no features for manually editing the ladder navigation meshes that are generated). Note that it is not perfect, but the AI bots will NO LONGER "hump" the back side of the ladder, and have a MUCH BETTER chance of successfully climbing up the ladder now.
