I don't see the big deal :s

Things changed and they have yet to fix them. I agree there are some major bugs with this update, fps loss, memory leaks, choppy models (mainly the knife), but they will fix it at some point.

Agree. My frames are definitely down and the game feels slightly more clunky than before (far from perfect before patch), but I'm enjoying the option of having a silencer and servers constantly being full. It feels like a reinvigorated game, which was definitely needed. Overall, I'm a huge fan of the patch.

So I just found out that people who idle servers get 2 drops per day. Previously I was told 2 a week, one skin and one case, but let it be known that you can definitely get 2 drops per day. I have no idea if more is possible.

It's just not fun to play when it's clunky and slow and the registry is this terrible. If I wanted to play a game with lots of weapons choices but very little actual movement or shooting skill required, I would play TF2. This game is no longer CS. I want a game where my character goes where I want it to, stops when I want it to, and whose bullets go where I'm aiming. CS:GO no longer offers any of those things.

I think this is a bit extreme considering the things they changed :s Aside from a few things needing to be tweaked, I think it is more competitively viable now. Are the m4a1-s and usp-s perfect? Definitely not, but they haven't had a chance for the competitive community to have a say. All the changes they've made thus far have been to create a more competitively viable game, by seeking advice from professionals. I don't see why they would change that this time.

I am a big fan of the introduction of crates and keys. It allows Valve and the eSports community to fund csgo servers as well as tournaments. It also allows for us to individualize our guns, I'm all for this, without affecting gameplay (assuming they fix these jitters).

I don't have that much of a problem with this update but if enough people go over to 1.6 so there's only like 4 people that play csgo I will play half and half

You mean what they say they changed in their change notes? The game plays completely differently now. That wasn't in the change notes, but clearly it has happened.

I definitely agree with you, if everything had stayed the same except for what they meant to update. I love the new weapons, I love that you can buy keys to support tournaments, etc etc. But they broke the game with the update. Reg is terrible, movement is terrible, and framerate is terrible.

I am not even going to touch on the actual update as it is basically a disaster as of right now. Valve is intent of making CSGO a casual game. Loadout weapons and skins are basically the lowest common denominator of FPS games and is a staple of CS rip-offs like Crossfire and Arctic Combat as a desperate attempt to entice children to play. There is a huge list of things Valve have done that takes skill out of the game and makes it "noob-friendly".

1. Movement, slow ducking, stamina based bunny-hopping.
2. Shooting, each gun has a single recoil pattern instead of being random like past games.
3. Wallhack Radar, why the hell do I need to see the enemies on radar?
4. Tracers, I can hear the gun, and my teammates should be calling position. I don't need the game to tell me his exact position.
5. 64 Tick, here they would rather have lag compensation making decisions instead of actual server ticks.
6. Weapon Kill rewards. Due to tickrate: Bullets Fired > Bullets aimed. Running and spraying is rewarded more than actually learning to aim.
7. No Wallbanging, because people are lazy to learn? No idea why this was removed.

And the biggest slap in the face as proof showing that Valve does not want CS to be competitive:
CSGO is suffering horribly in terms of North American player base, sponsorship and general support. There is only 1 substantially backed league and LAN, ESEA. Valve decides to drop the update right before the only big NA event knowing that it will be full of bugs and mechanic changes. This shows a complete lack of regard for the game itself. It basically introduced more casual friendly features (Skins) while destroying any chance of making the game look competitively viable to North Americans. ESEALAN will be seen as illegitimate because any losing team can cry "update/fpsdrop/crashes" and they have every right to. Bootcamps dedicated to developing strats and meta-strats these past weeks are basically moot.

I think this is a systematic attempt to move the competitively minded gamers to Valve's baby Dota2 while keeping the casuals spending money on the market in TF2 and CSGO.

I get where you're coming from, but they're probably using the pre-update version of the game. Valve always tags those as "beta" so you can revert for tournaments if need be.

I wonder if that's true. There are so many completely illogical things that have happened, and couple that with the completely game-breaking updates to 1.6 and Source, and it starts to make a lot of sense.

There are a few things I definitely disagree on, Jeroh.

Movement: Slow ducking. I can't see a time when it would ever be necessary or beneficial to spam crouch, which is all that it does now. I've never been hindered by this in any server, casual or competitive.
Shooting: Recoil has a pattern. Hasn't recoil always had a pattern? I remember the m4 being almost the same to shoot. The AK was essentially hold mouse 1 and pull down/left.
64 tick: Valve doesn't need to give us servers to us. They haven't in 1.6, CZ, nor Source. War Owl had a pretty good video recently that explained why 64 tick servers are viable. Too long;won't watch: Their cheaper and expensive servers can't be maintained forever.
Weapon Kill rewards: This really only applies to the P90, which I only agree somewhat. Any person skilled with a rifle can take down a P90 unless the P90 is in your face, then you're fucked. But that is what SMG's are meant for.
No Wallbanging: I think it's much more realistic now. Instead of walls being made of layers of paper, they are actually made of dense material. I wouldn't expect a rifle to shoot through a 5 foot concrete wall, in CSGO it doesn't. You definitely can still wallbang in many places, through materials that make sense (like on Mirage you can wallbang the drywall into B apartments).
