Its obviously a mistake. They didn't fuck up with guns before and fix them immediately. it always takes a week or more, so a mistake in the coding that gives the gun less ammo doesn't make the gun worthless or a niche gun. It was a mistake. If anything the silencer on the usp makes it a niche gun. I use it for the sole purpose of it being silent. No other reason. Did we have a discussion about how broken the game was because the tec9 was a laser for a week? Everyone knew it was a mistake.

I totally agree. I dropped te cz argument because i was factually inaccurate. It also has no bearing now with recent updates. As i previously stated, cz/p250 was personal preference. I liked the cz because i could easily frag riflers with it. As someone who loves the awp/auto, having an automatic sidearm was kickass. This page never was an argument (at least my posts weren't)

In response to serial, i think it's BS valve can't properly code their own fucking million dollar making game. The p250 nerf was fucking useless since its an eco weapon and you are likely to pick up an enemy gun after you get a frag or 2. And it is this p250 nerf that fucked with the p2k. Stop tweaking guns that dont need tweaking, valve. If the wheel is fine dont fucking try to reinvent it.

And the main difference about the usp/p2k is do you want more mags or a silencer? That is personal preference (or it would be if it wasnt for this bs patch) :/

I call a weapon a niche gun when it is outclassed in all or most aspects by another weapon (mp9 is a niche gun because if i wanted a cheap smg i would buy an ump for 1200 or if i wanted bullets and a high firerate i would get a pp bizon.) [mp9 fulfills the very rare niche if being forced to buy up as the losing team last round because you want a weapon with a high rate of fire but you only have $1250]

I think all pistols need a nerf. The fact that you can one shot kill with a pistol but not a rifle is absolute shit.

However, there needs to be a better way to nerf them. Not just damage and rate of fire. They need to develop a new, more reasonable and more logical way of balancing them. The guns in go are horribly balanced.

Wouldn't that classify the MP9, UMP, and PP-Bizon all as niche guns? They each (as you listed) have specific criteria as to why you would or wouldn't use them.

A lot of the weapons that you are calling niche weapons, are used by many people in the very high ranks and professionals. A PP-Bizon is (read:should) only be successful as an anti-eco weapon against unarmored opponents. It makes for a great weapon to hold B Tunnels on De_dust2 with after a successful pistol round.

The UMP is great because it is very accurate and has decent armor penetration for only $1200. I believe it does ~65 dmg for an unobstructed headshot to a fully armored enemy. I frequently buy this if I am the only person who cannot full buy (I'd prefer UMP with nades over M4 with no nades or M4 with no helm). I like to use this gun to hold A site on De_dust2.

The MP9 is great for tight corners. I love using this gun when pushing through long tunnel on de_dust2 as well as holding cat. It is much more inaccurate than the other CT SMG's so it does not to well with distance. It has a very high rate of fire and can easily be used to surprise 2 or 3 rushing enemies.

IMO that makes all of these weapons niche weapons. I'm not going to use a bizon to pick mid, a cat push would be more effect use of the ammo. I'm not going to use an MP9 to hold B, a full rush would have me fucked up and probably demolish me. I suppose an UMP would be the only one of those 3 that is truly versatile. The armor penetration allows for a decent rush weapon, but still not preferable.
