GO is 25% off. It might go cheaper during the Christmas sales, but if you've been right on the edge of being able to afford it, 25% might be a good time to get it.

A buddy of mine recently bought CS:GO for me (when it was 25% off).

Hehe, me thinks he should have checked the minimum system requirements first, as there ain't no chance in hell that it would even START on my old clunker (much less, run) LOL!

(Edit) I've even considered trading it with for something else, with anyone that would want to trade, but I *HATE* Steam-ed-up games SO MUCH I prolly won't.

Was it HAT Ghost? I saw him playing it the other day.

And you need to get a better computer. GO is, in my opinion, the best Counter Strike now. :D

You don't even need a good computer. The one I made Joe is probably worth $150 by today's standards.

You would think, as a PC tech (a small one-man show), that in actuality I WOULD have a better PC LOL! Not in the budget right now though, business has been extremely slow (hmmm... I wonder why I'm not moving "Forward"?).

Drives me nutz though... to be ever so often building up new PCs for customers, only to return to my old CRT monitor and clunker LOL!

(edit) Hmmmm.... I wonder if it would run on this -> http://jasonwilliams400com.startlogic.c ... X4-100.htm LMAO! :)

Wow, that's a really old computer. :D I guess it's good at dos games, though. I hate running in dosbox in a tiny window.

Yeah, that old PC runs the old DOS stuff superbly :)

BTW, you do know that DOSBox will run completely fullscreen, no? :)

Yeah, but then it looks terrible. :P Something about running it natively on a CRT monitor makes it not look so bad.

There are several settings in your "DOSBox.conf" file that you can tweak that will probably make things look better on a non-CRT monitor :)

Under the "[sdl]" section:

fullscreen=true
fullresolution=(a fixed size, your desktop resolution would be a good choice, e.g. 1024x768)

Under the "[render]" section:

aspect=true

scaler=(normal2x, normal3x, advmame2x, advmame3x, advinterp2x, advinterp3x, hq2x, hq3x, 2xsai, super2xsai, supereagle, tv2x, tv3x, rgb2x, rgb3x, scan2x, scan3x)

Note that most of the above will require another "output" type other than the default of "surface". Under the "[sdl]" section:

output=(overlay, opengl, openglnb, ddraw)

Twiddling with the above settings can increase the quality of the graphics, especially for natively low-res mode games (like DOOM, that natively runs in 320x200).
