Thanks for the input! I will give these weapons a try. I also got a userconfig.cfg set up and working with help of the Beginners Guide. I have some buy binds set up and few other things.

Couple other questions:
- How do I check to see what fps I'm getting during play?
- Does anyone know how I would convert an old CS demo file into an AVI file that could be viewed in Windows Media Player?

Thanks!

Just about every single gun is good and has a purpose in this version of counter strike. Get good with as many weapons as you can. The p250 and the five seven are both good pistols. The starting pistols are good as well, but some people like the advantage the p250 and five seven have when you are talking about distance shots. They do more damage from a distance I believe.

For fps put in console net_graph 3 there is also a command to make your netgraph really small and put it into one of the corners but I forget that command.

At a distance the p250 is less accurate the the starting pistols though. Not sure of the 5-7

Code:
net_graph "1"
net_graphpos "1"
net_graphheight "50"
Those are my net graph commands. It should put it in the bottom right and on 4:3 its pretty small. Actually I think that is the lowest value you can set for height?

yeah, net_graph 1 is the option. I think net_graph 3 is cheat protected. You can also choose net_graphpos 1, 2, or 3 to put in the bottom right, bottom centered, or bottom left.

I personally use cl_showfps, which shows you the fps in the top left corner.

Net graph blocks my view a lot of the time so I prefer showfps

Ok thanks for the input guys. How do I enter those commands into console? We aren't talking about my autoexec.cfg right?

just open your console with the ~ key and type them in. You may have to go into your game settings and enable developer console first.

Ok so I've noticed every time I launch the game my Master Volume is reset to max, and also my Enable Developer Console is reset back to "NO".

Is there something I can put in my userconfig.cfg to prevent this from happening so that my console is always enabled and my master volume is set to a specified level?

Thanks!

Just change your config.cfg off of read only, launch your game, change those two settings, then put it back to read-only.

hey imok don't forget about net_graphproportionalfont 0. That will make all the text really tiny for netgraph so it takes up almost no room.

Apparently I already had that set. I guess I wrote it to my config and the above commands were in my autoexec. That is why its so small then. I set the value to one and damn does that increase the size it takes up.
