I think the most interesting thing this guy found was that it's really the first few matches that matter the most. If you do poorly in your first few matches, you'll continually get teammates who are silvers and opponents who are silvers, and you'll have a hard time ranking up.

Basically, ELO hell does exist.

Unless this is massively coincidental valve needs to change up their system.

Yeah, it's just too easy to rank down and too hard to rank up, and now we can see why. The system really does put you into an ELO hell.
