Post subject:  Observations about overwatch

I've probably done around 50 or so Overwatch cases since I got it a few days ago, and I thought others might be interested to hear my current observations about it.
  • The demos are HORRIBLE. It's impossible to tell if people are using aim assistance because the demos are just so bad. They're so bad if you drop a gun, it just floats in the air for a second, and grenades fly away like balloons. Bullets don't go anywhere near the crosshair and people will frequently die before they even show up in view. Unless it's a rage hack of some sort, or unless it's pretty clear they're using it in conjunction with walls, it's basically impossible to say that they're using an aim hack.
  • The demos seem to start about 2-4 rounds before whatever caused them to be reported. Sometimes they will start in warmup and the person will obviously be hacking the whole time. Other times it'll start and at first I think there's nothing suspicious, but a few rounds into the demo they'll clearly toggle their hacks on or will purposely team kill or otherwise grief. Or sometimes a few rounds in they'll just get a really lucky spray through the smoke and then a few lucky headshots to the point where I can imagine people reporting it. It's pretty consistent that if the first few round appear clean you can just wait a few rounds and see what they got reported for.
  • It seems like every single case I've gotten were of people at or below my skill level. It's pretty easy to tell what rank a person is just by how they play (within a certain margin of error anyway) and I think the highest rank I've probably seen is about a MGE. I have never overwatched a case and been impressed by the skill level of either team or really thought that anybody in the server was better than me in any way. I always hear on reddit and SPUF that people encounter hackers in about 80% of their games at the higher ranks, so I wonder if there is some sort of system where it only gives you cases of people below your rank so you don't think somebody who is just good is hacking.
  • About 80% of the cases I've received have either contained obvious, blatant hackers, or griefers. So maybe there are just so many overwatch cases that I simply haven't gotten any above me.

One of the funniest things for me is how horrible everybody is at hiding their hacks. You can tell watching the demo that they're trying to hide it. They're checking corners they know nobody is in, etc. But they're just doing it so fucking badly, it's actually quite sad.

Now of course, these are the people who are so bad at hiding it that they get overwatch reported. So there might be people out there who can hide it. But I haven't seen any of them.

I like the video and think it could be helpful. I think you need to refine it more and be a little more explanatory.

Can you be a little more explanatory on what I need to be more explanatory about?

Maybe go back and show what you are talking about. Like when a person is tracing through a wall, focus on that more so people know exactly what you are talking about. I am not really sure what else I mean, but just more information instead of they are trying not to look at the person, maybe explain how you know that.

I wish you could rewind overwatch demos. :(

Here's one of somebody obviously not hacking. I think they probably just got reported because of their score.

There is no commentary on the video because (1) there's nothing interesting to say and (2) I had just woken up anyway and didn't feel like talking.

Are you kidding me? If you want to hack, then learn to play with them! Fucking hackers don't even know how to hack anymore.

Anyways, that was funny as shit.

He was bad at wall hacking. Not only he didn't even attempt to hide them but he couldn't hit people

Apparently you can now do another overwatch case immediately after finishing one.
