Go to video settings and advanced
I don't know how good your computer is but your skins will look better if those are set to high. I don't know if they just randomly changed or whatever but if those options aren't on high, that.might he the problemo
Well I haven't changed any of my video settings myself, other than trying a different resolution, but this problem is happening no matter what resolution I have set. Also, I believe Serial had me intentionally turn down some of my video settings long ago to increase FPS. I have not touched them since, unless somehow a game update changed them.

Shaders!
Yes. This is the video setting that makes your skins look better. However, it also makes scopes, like the awp scope, look like it's smeared with Vaseline, which is probably why you turned them down to begin with.
i don't recall my AWP scope ever looking like it was smeared with Vaseline, and I've always had my skins look nice in game prior to yesterday. I never turned down shaders nor did I tweak any video settings whatsoever other than resolution and aspect ratio. Where do I go to change the Shaders setting? And do I need to look for something in my auto exec that could have been changed somehow?
I'll check the shaders first once I find out where to look. Hopefully that solves the problem. I'll take the Vaseline over the gross color/finishes on my weapon skins. Perhaps it seems silly to some of you, but the visual appeal to skins is very important to me, otherwise there is no point in having them. For example, my PP Bizon Brass skin used to be a shiny gold, now it's just a rusty, dull piece of crap. I appreciate the help on this.
