Ok, this is really bothering me. I noticed on a lot of my skins they have lost a lot of their color and shine. Has anyone else noticed this or have any idea what might be going on? I think it might have happened on all of my skins, but some are much more noticeable than others.

For example, I have a P2000 Silver skin. When I played with it in the past, it was always shiny and silver. Now its just a flat/dull gray. I haven't changed any color video options and can't figure out what's going on.

Big thanks to whoever helps me get this fixed!

Go to video settings and advanced

I don't know how good your computer is but your skins will look better if those are set to high. I don't know if they just randomly changed or whatever but if those options aren't on high, that.might he the problemo

Yes. This is the video setting that makes your skins look better. However, it also makes scopes, like the awp scope, look like it's smeared with Vaseline, which is probably why you turned them down to begin with.

I've been having a lot of issues with this lately. Changing my game from Fullscreen Windowed to Fullscreen. Taking my [AM] tag off. It keeps putting cl_autowepswitch to 1 (or whatever the command is). I don't know why these things keep changing. I've NEVER had any issues until 1 or 2 months ago. Every update, something new starts reverting back.

to me it makes everything also all shiny and vaseline-like. the floors and walls on the 'dust' theme maps are the worst.

i had this happen to me a long time ago when it would reset some of those values. the clan tag thing happened to me as i left with it on and it was turned off when i started playing. might be all those updates i did but it still was happening before that. the only thing i can think of is that there is something with your autoexec/config. make sure they are not read only. you could obviously try forcing some settings through the launch options if you already don't. also make sure you make the changes in the autoexec and not console. i.e. having fps max at 130 and then changing it in console to fps max 0. the next time you restart cs it'll be back to fps max 130 or whatever is in the cfg. you probably already know all of this though. so if it is none of these things than i dunno and it is probably just csgo being broken.

Well I haven't changed any of my video settings myself, other than trying a different resolution, but this problem is happening no matter what resolution I have set. Also, I believe Serial had me intentionally turn down some of my video settings long ago to increase FPS. I have not touched them since, unless somehow a game update changed them.

i don't recall my AWP scope ever looking like it was smeared with Vaseline, and I've always had my skins look nice in game prior to yesterday. I never turned down shaders nor did I tweak any video settings whatsoever other than resolution and aspect ratio. Where do I go to change the Shaders setting? And do I need to look for something in my auto exec that could have been changed somehow?

I'll check the shaders first once I find out where to look. Hopefully that solves the problem. I'll take the Vaseline over the gross color/finishes on my weapon skins. Perhaps it seems silly to some of you, but the visual appeal to skins is very important to me, otherwise there is no point in having them. For example, my PP Bizon Brass skin used to be a shiny gold, now it's just a rusty, dull piece of crap. I appreciate the help on this.
