I've played 1.6, CS:S, and GO. I have to say that GO is my favorite because it is the one I have gotten most into.

I played a lot more competitively in 1.6, but from what I remember the only thing I liked more about the game was the movement and walling. Walling was sometimes ridiculous (being shot through ten inches of stone isn't very realistic), but I also wish GO didn't nerf walling to irrelevancy. GO seems to be an overall better experience, especially when nostalgia is factored in, so I guess it's CS:GO!

EDIT: My god, I missed the most important thing. Please bring back 1.6's SOUND! It was so nice to be able to pinpoint footsteps to their exact location instead of just a general idea that is sometimes wrong.

Definitely csgo. The only thing that isn't better is movement, sound, walling, and some aspects of the maps. Go has better game modes, better weapons, better balance, better economy, better features for server owners, etc etc. It's a far superior game to all of the others.

How are people picking 1.0-1.5? It was impossible to kill people with pistols and you could zoom with the colt. What were the redeeming qualities?

The redeeming quality is being able to identify yourself as a hipster. "I liked CS before it was good!"

The colt scope went away before 1.0. Basically the guns all stayed the same for 1.0-1.5, then 1.6 added the Galil, Famas, and Riot shield. 1.6 Also forced the deagle animation so Awp/Deag combo became less OP.

This. I recently downloaded 1.3 and was surprised at how different the weapon models were (the arms and poly count are quite different). Also that sexy knife. i voted for 1.6 cuz dats my baby.

Isn't this a good thing? Should you be punished if you don't have a rifle? I don't understand your point. I also think you are confusing CS beta (the mod) with cs 1.0-1.5 (pre steam retail version).

Jero just said the guns stayed the same during CS 1.0-1.5. He described 1.0-1.5 in detail but he never mentioned CS beta. Me confuseyyyy :/

Llama basically said "the guns were different!" when he mentioned that you couldn't kill with pistols. Jero basically said "the guns have been the same since 1.0!" So it seems clear that Karma was thinking about the beta.

And yeah, I was wrong and made comments about the beta and Jero corrected me. I guess age is finally getting the better of me. I don't really remember 1.0-1.6, but I remember the riot shield update. Isn't that when they got rid of the unscoped cross hair on the awp? Or, guessing by my track record, that was beta as well.

That was the 1.1 update, when they also introduced "legging" with the awp.
