Watching that video made me angry at how lazy the devs are when this could help the game out so much. Granted some stuff would probably be tweaked but this would be a MASSIVE improvement

I just set one up in Chicago. It is 100% vanilla 5v5 (no sourcemod) except for the scripts change.

This mod is horrible. CT weapons don't do any damage to armored opponents, and the aimpunch when you get shot with a T weapon is incredible. I imagine if people played competitive with this mod on every map would be 13:2 T-side, with a 15:15 tie every time.

I think the pistols are really well-done. I think the SMGs were over-nerfed, though.

Running and luckily getting a headshot with a pistol is one of the most disgusting things in CS GO. The Rifles work fine but the pistols definitely need a major overhaul. Even if they brought back two hit headshots to kill an opponent on pistol rounds I would be fine with it.

I think the concept of luck is overblown in CS:GO. Sure, I've been hit with the bullshit running tec-9 around corners where I didn't even have a chance to play the round. But the game comes down to consistency, and I think being mentally strong is a trait that separates the good from the great players. That's why there is such a huge bar between your standard ESEA players and the pros. Pros avoid going on tilt instead of, "THIS GAME IS BULLSHIT, WHATEVER. CS:COD."

I don't like aspect of randomness in the game,but I don't know what a solution is. I feel if you're standing still, every bullet from every gun should go right where you're aiming, but then that makes it really hard to balance the weapons. How would you balance the AK vs the m4? Maybe make the cooldown for the AK slightly longer than the m4, or something. I don't know. But I think when people talk about luck they are talking about how the game is fundamentally random, at least to a certain degree.

The randomness of csgo is what separates my enjoyment of the game and my hatred of it. If they make the game more skill based and less luck based I would be so happy.

It is genuinely the sole reason I've gotten so pissed with it recently.

In 1.6 you had
The USP which would be super accurate when standing still but had 12 bullets and you had to make them count
Then you had the glock which wasn't that strong but had a lot of tagging when combined with other glocks so it made rushes more effective
The AK was the OSOK weapon that was great at all ranges and wasn't OP because of the CT sided meta
The Colt was silence-able and was great at short to midrange distances
The AWP was the sniper rifle of choice with low fire rate but a OSOK to the body
The Deagle was the OSOK pistol

Why am I bringing all this up?
Because In CS Go

The P250 is the best eco weapon by far. Both teams can afford it and it's $300 for a OSOK. Compare that to 1.6 when you needed a deagle+sec ammo which would be around $800-1000. Suddenly, save rounds become almost obsolete unless you want to save 300 for an extra nade next round but for the most part you buy a p250 if you are saving

Because the deagle isn't the only OSOK pistol the P250, Tec-9, Five-Seven, and (used to be) CZ-75 become more viable than the deagle. Yes this adds "variety" but a 300$ OSOK weapon is not balanced.

The glock is also way too strong compared to how it used to be. This along with the peekers advantage is why CSGO is a much more CT sided game than 1.6.

The Deagle in CS GO is perfectly balanced but the weapons around it aren't.

Another thing that 1.6 triumphs over CS GO in is hitboxes. Jumping hitboxes are too accurate and standing still while shooting is too unreliable. Think this is me being a n00b crying or some other bullshit? Try and look at this video where the hitboxes get fucked up while someone on the enemy team is planting the bomb.

This is recorded on a LAN GAME with the best possible situation (aka online it's worse)

In conclusion, randomness should be as MINIMAL as possible in an esport and If a fan can balance the pistols better, then I think valve can.
Even if people overblow the concept of luck, it shouldn't be in an esport. Plain and simple. There is no reason valve adds standing inaccuracies to CS GO. (I know this existed in 1.6 but it was to a much lesser extent and it shouldn't have been in that game either.) I know it's not realistic but a game where you can run around with an M249 Machine Gun firing accurate shots at a low fire rate as well as a player getting shot in the body managing to be completely normal afterwards is a good sign that CS GO isn't realistic.

Also with the planting hitbox video imagine trying to shoot a guy planting from a long distance. Even if it looks like you are shooting at him, there is a chance your bullet will go past his model simply because of the shitty hitboxes.
