So yesterday imok, his friend, and i were playing competitive. imoks friend was new to the game and often bought on the 3rd round after we lost pistol. So we told the rest of our team to buy. Sure enough we caught the other team off guard and won that round.

I think that we should 3rd round buy (either famas/galils or m4s/aks with no nades) more often.

Yeah a lot of people get stuck in a very predictable play style. Mixing up your buys can really help, but don't fall into the sane trap where you are always buying really regardless of how the enemy is playing.

Its all relative. You need to be able to calculate both teams money based on the kills each person got in the first 2 rounds, and what weapons you think THEY have. It's not hard to know what's the best course of action and guessing is not how you play CS. If you got decimated 2 rounds and they barely lost a player then you shouldn't buy 3rd round because you probably can't afford a full set of Gun/Armor/Helm/Nades, and half buying is stupid. You are basically giving away rounds if you think only a primary weapon and nothing else is suitable. Also, this is why you have an In-Gam leader, they are supposed to be doing the thinking and choosing for you. They are supposed to be keeping track of economy, kills, deaths, positions, etc and they ccann the strat, whether you should save your guns, and whether you should go for a clutch or not.

yeah I think one of our biggest problems is we establish the in game leader, and then everyone makes their own calls and ignores the leader. However, yes we need to pay more attention to how many kills the enemy gets in the first two rounds and change up our buying. Just watching dreamhack shows that if you dominate early, you should surprise buy.
