Not saying the originals are bad, just that covers are more iconic. The cover artists are now more associated with the song. I would like more "official" examples as well as personal choices.

I didn't know Hey Joe was a cover, but holy shit the original is bad.

I like Eric Clapton's version of Knocking on Heaven's Door significantly better.

I think Eric Clapton's cover of I Shot the Sheriff is 100x better than Bob Marley's original version.
