Post subject:  Games from our giveaway are being revoked
Unfortunately, it appears that some of the games donated to us for our 24 hour giveaway were purchased fraudulently and may begin to be revoked.

Our 24 hour giveaway for charity was only made possible through generous donations from the community, but it appears some members of the community were less than honest with the gifts they chose to give us. Some seem to have been purchased with stolen credit cards and are beginning to be revoked. I did not think this would be an issue when we started the stream, since I had received many of the games months in advance, but it seems months after the event somebody has finally reported a card stolen and the games are being revoked.

In the event of this happening, please contact serialp0rt or me. We don't have a lot of money and chances are we won't be able to purchase the game for you (it was only through generous donations from many many members of the CS:GO community that we were able to do the giveaway in the first place), but we will do everything in our power to rectify the situation.

I have contacted steam support to see if they will be willing to reinstate the games gifted during the 24 hour stream to the people to whom they were gifted, but we all know what steam support is like. I wouldn't hold my breath about it.

Wow, this is sad and messed up! You're talking about the recent fundraiser for one of our members right?
Is it one kid with his Mom's credit card or multiple different cards from different people?
Can we find out who donated the fraudulently purchased games and black ball them somehow?

The gifts were from three different accounts, all of which are suspended. I have put in a support ticket, but chances are the games will not be returned. Steam already knows who purchased them fraudulently (that's how they were revoked), and those accounts have been banned, but they generally don't reinstate games that haven't been purchased.

I would love to exact revenge, but I have no idea how to do this lol.

Nope. There is absolutely no way to prevent somebody from doing a charge back.

In serious talks, the games I donated for the stream (Doom and Fallout New Vegas) were purchased by me and are not going to be revoked. If someone makes a post proving they had a donation revoked I will be more than happy at ATTEMPTING to fix their problem.

People were choosing to give games because they had steam money but not real money.

I don't know. I wasn't suggesting there is any other option or positing one - I was simply explaining why this was our modus operandi during this giveaway.

You'll meet everywhere scammers.. So you have to setup "secure" transactions from our members... Because these accidents will cost you sometimes.. And you'll have to go to lawyers and tribunals...

One of the guys added me back after I posted to his account that he was a cheating pile of shit, and he was like "Sorry man, my account got hacked." I said, "No, the only way that could happen is if you stole a credit card to buy the games with, or you purposely did a charge-back on the card to fuck me." His only response was "Fuck you, that's not what happened" and he removed me.

Piece of shit.
