I've had several long-time Steam friends approach me recently and ask "Do you guys still do community ten-mans?" Since I've gotten a lot of recent feedback about this, I was thinking we should try to start it back up again.

Most of these people have interest in doing an actual ten-man. Private server, pick teams, each team have a different channel.

I would probably advertise our discord server rather than our mumble server, so we can have more of a variety of people playing.

I'd like to start out with once a week ten-mans. I'd like to do either Friday evening or Saturday evening. I'd personally prefer Friday. Does anybody else have any ideas on a day/time?

I actually just had this idea as well I think Friday nights are perfect I would definitely be interested in participating :)

Yesterday's 5v5 was a very good success. Even though both games took a while to start because of trying to get 10 people, everybody who committed stuck around. Discord sucks, but I think using discord made it more accessible to people who would not otherwise have participated.

I don't know about the other team, but our team was positive and had a good time, even when we were losing.

The mix was about 50/50 clan/community, which is a really good mix. Two people were actually new to the community; the other community members were long-time regulars like Milkman and Chypher.

I had quite a few people message me after I was done playing asking if we were going to do another, but I was too tired. However, it does show the popularity of the idea.

A few people suggested they would prefer to do it on a Saturday, when they weren't at work all day. I'm worried about other commitments getting in the way more on a Saturday, but we'll try the next one on Saturday instead.

I think we should try friday saturday and sunday on the weekends to give people plenty of flexible time.

I actually brought this up last night. I think it would be a great way to bring the community together and show our competitive sides. Fridays and Saturdays would be great. I've always enjoyed a nice Pick Up Scrimmage game.

It seems like 6 ended up being too early, although I do think Saturday is definitely better than Friday. We'll probably try 8 or 9 from now on.

We've got another scheduled for Saturday at 8pm eastern. Hopefully it will be a better turnout than last weekend. If not, we'll try Friday again since Alimo was the only one to indicate a time preference.

Well it really only has to work for a few people's schedules, but then those people have to be willing to invite their friends in. The first one we did, almost everybody who wasn't a clan member was my friend. The second one I couldn't do, and I don't know if anybody who was on even bothered to ask around. At least the people I talked to were just kind of waiting for it to happen instead of making it happen.

Also, this was the same issue as the last time we tried 10-mans/pugs. People just wanted to do it when THEY wanted to do it, and wouldn't adhere to a schedule.
