Somebody on reddit made a great chart showing one shot headshot distances for all weapons with and without a helmet.

The p250 is known for its ability to kill an armored opponent with one shot to the head. That's why it's the number one pistol on any round after the first one, be it for eco or for a sidearm to go along with a AWP. Just don't buy it on pistol round, since the enemies won't have head armor anyway.

I would agree, I however shoot the five-seven and the cz better than I do a p250, so I generally get them instead.

It only kills with one shot to the head at pretty close distances. On CT side, the 5-7 has more bullets and a greater one-shot range. I will only buy p250 on T side ecos because they really don't have a better gun.

I think the flashbang I buy with a p250 with worth more than a five-seven with no grenades. That's why I choose the p250 over the five-seven.

I don't ever remember a round where I didn't have enough money for both. :/

When it comes down to P250 vs 5-7 I have to say 5-7 all the way. Statistically it's better and like Anubis said you will never not have enough for it. However, If you master the P250's recoil you will have a great and cheap pistol for both sides.

EDIT: Derp. Thought it was the CZ argument post.
EDIT EDIT: Added new sentence.

Wow, had no idea the P2000/USP one-shot headshot range was 3.5X that of the glock. I knew it had a longer range, but that's a massive difference.

I'm confused. Isn't the point of an eco round to buy something cheap but usable and save most of your cash? With this in mind, the P250+FB makes more economical sense than 5-7+FB because you are saving more money for the next round.

I can get more kills (and thus more money) with a 5-7. If you really cared about saving money, you should just keep you p2k, but even you don't do that because you know that you need to somewhat maximize your chance of getting a kill.

Right, I get that. I thought the point being discussed was whether a 5-7 or a P250+FB was a better buy, both cost $500. Your comment about always having enough money to buy a FB made me think you were always buying a FB anyways, thus spending $700 every Eco round. This seems expensive to me for an Eco, but perhaps I'm wrong.

The difference between spending $500 and $700 on an eco round is a non-issue. If you further consider that the 5-7 is a better gun than the P250, and that your chance of getting a kill with it is therefore greater, you will actually have a greater chance of being at least $100 ahead at the end of the eco round.

There is no one correct way to play CS, and eco rounds are a great example of that. If you feel like you can get more kills with a p250, then it would obviously be the better buy on an eco round. Because the 5-7 is a better weapon statistically, I have spent more time practicing with it, and would obviously do better with it on an eco round.

Ik this is kinda off topic from the thread but I had an idea

If you lose pistol from ct everyone can purchase a nova and gamble that you will get kill money. You also have rhe chance to win the round.

I think the most practical use for this is you are behind t side and need luck to win from on forth

Just my 2 cents on an Eco round idea

And if you lose shotguns you have to double eco. This us a big problem and when people do it I get so mad. You are throwing away 1 round, why risk 2? :|

I think surprise buying is underutilized.

if you get a kill it's you break even on money and now you have a shinty new gun to mow down the other team. Maybe not everyone buys a nova but one or two can be very effective

T side: If you plant the bomb and lose the round, absolutely consider surprise buying. You will have the same amount of money as the CT's.

CT side: If you lose the round w/o bomb plant, I would say 5% of the time you should surprise buy, REALLY depends on the situation and who you're with.
If you lose the round and they plant the bomb too, you'd be wasting your money because they will have smg/armor and rifles/armor.
