Jabber - I'm going to be a police officer. I am deciding if I should go into K9 Police or SWAT. I definitely want to be more than a regular patrol officer but if I do so, I will have to dedicate my time to the police. Being a K9 Officer prohibits me from drinking and partying (not like I'm a party animal now) because I have to be available 24/7. I am looking for the challenge of being a SWAT also. It has been my dream for many years.

Here you have to be in patrol for 2 years before you can specialize. If your state has something like that, it gives you lots of time to think about it still
