_______

I think that Dust2, Inferno, Nuke, MIrage, Cache, Season, Train, Cbble, Overpass, Tuscan, and Fire should be permanent fixtures in the Asylum. We can then vote on the non-active duty maps for each month. With the current setup we are doing we risk eliminating good maps just so we can keep our silly 5 active map quota. Anyone else with Me?

Not me. I wouldn't be mad if we permanently banned dust2 from the server lol. And considering our 5v5 server does only play those maps, I don't see why we need to force all our servers to be identical. The point of the asylum is to have a varied map cycle, but we're experimenting with the best way to accomplish that goal. I'm certainly open to changing the number of maps we vote on every time though.

(this reminds me I need to put fire on the 5v5)

yeah, I don't agree at all. I think we should keep voting the maps like this. Its been much more fun having people stay and play because they know these are the only maps.

If you are open to increasing the number I suggest we make it 6 Valve Maps and 6 Community Maps. My logic goes like this

Dust2-Mirage-Cache-Inferno (Staples of the CS Scene I could not live with out them)

Now if I want I can only pick 1 more map if we are going by the 5 limit rule. A 6 map limit rule could let me pick and combination of nuke, train, overpass, and cobble.

I'm fine with 6 and 6, but I agree having a varied map cycle is what keeps the Asylum fresh. I'm really burnt out on Dust2/Mirage and, when those maps are chosen, I find myself watching TV more than engaging with the game.

Resort looks incredibly fun. I'm going to change my vote from Ali to Resort.

I disagree. I understand that changing it to 6 would make it easier for Robot, But that defeats the point of voting. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the point of the vote is to vary the map, not for you to have your favorite maps every single month. I vote a hard 'No'.

Cobblestone

Yeah, I thought resort looked really fun. It was one of the more popular maps so I was hoping to get to try it. Everyone should give it a look.

You're definitely not wrong, but the choice of 10 was somewhat arbitrary. IMO, the best number choice would be 11, since the current map doesn't come up again in the map vote at the end of the level, and there 10 maps in each vote. I could always take the 5 most popular valve ones, the 5 most popular workshop ones, and the next runner up (regardless of category).

11 sounds better. I do think that we need to have a few constants. Like 3 Valve maps that we know people will play. Like we need dust2 as a fallback to get people to join. I was thinking 3 permanent valve maps, 3 voted on valve maps, 5 workshop. The permanent would obviously be the most popular (D2, Mirage, ????)

I see your point, I have no problem with regulars like D2 and Mirage always around to help populate the server and then we can vote on maps that are a change of pace. I honestly don't know what the next most popular map is in the eyes of the community. When I 64 tick pub, I'm inclined to say that Nuke gets the most votes. I have no stats to back this up, just observations.

Are we still considering nuke a valve map since it's been pulled?
